2006 Chapter Award Winners
Partners for Excellence
In its sixth year, the Partners for Excellence Chapter awards program encourages Chapters to work together with IECA for the benefit of the erosion and sediment control profession.
The program helps Chapters with management, communication, member recognition, working with volunteers and strategic planning. The program is geared towards goal-setting to encourage Chapter officers to plan activities in a manner that will be recognized and rewarded.
Rick Granard Award of Distinction
(Highest overall award)
Winner: Western Chapter
This award goes to the Chapter receiving the most overall cumulative points from all three core areas.
Chapter Management Award of Achievement
Winner: Pacific Northwest Chapter
Honorable Mention: Australasia, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Pacific Northwest, South Central, Southeast, and Western Chapters
This category includes such concepts as structure, planning, review and resources. Structure deals with the Chapter’s important documents, written job descriptions and volunteer solicitation. Planning and Review evaluates the Chapter’s strategic planning process, budgetary development, communication with members and headquarters, general meetings and leadership selection. Resources refers to the technology available to the chapters.
Membership Development/Services Award of Achievement
Winner: Mid-Atlantic Chapter
Honorable Mention: Australasia, Mid-Atlantic, Pacific Northwest, Southeast, and Western Chapters
This category addresses such concepts as member recruitment and retention plans and overall services to Chapter members. Services such as newsletters, needs assessment surveys, welcome procedures and more are evaluated for this award.
Education/Outreach Award of Achievement
Winner: South Central Chapter
Honorable Mention: South Central, Southeast, and Western Chapters
The theme of service to the association and service to the profession is stressed in this category. This area includes activities that strengthen the erosion and sediment control profession and extend the visibility of IECA, such as community service and outreach programs, educational and event programming.
