Polymer Enhanced Best Management Practices: How Anionic Polyacrylamide Can Make Good BMPs Great

Seva Iwinski-Bray

Education Track: Erosion & Sediment Control

Anionic polyacrylamides (PAMs) offer a versatile, environmentally safe, and effective means to control erosion and improve water quality. In this presentation, the correct use of anionic PAM with traditional erosion and stormwater BMPs will be detailed. Real world examples will be used to walk attendees through a slew of polymer enhanced applications and provide information that can be used to help participants meet their erosion control and stormwater goals.

She oversees all North American and European production of Applied Polymer Systems product line including Floc Log, Silt Stop and Pond Log products as well as oversees all laboratory testing facilities for sampling and analysis. Seva is responsible for directing her team of technicians in designs of site specific water treatment systems using innovative polymer enhanced BMPs that have shown significant improvement over existing conventional BMP systems. These systems include those involving water clarification, stormwater management, soil stabilization, demucking, pond and lake management, and dewatering operations. She holds a BS in BioEnvironmental Science from Texas A&M University.
