Graham will be providing a general overview of The City of Calgary’s (The City) Stormwater Pollution Prevention program, specifically covering:
     - Stormwater Pollution Prevention in Calgary – why is it important? What are the key regulations?
     - Requirements for Erosion and Sediment Control Plan development, implementation, inspection and monitoring in Calgary
     - Brief document and ‘toolbox’ review including The City’s Erosion and Sediment Control Guidelines, Standard Specifications and Application
     - Drainage Code of Practice and the Drainage Self-Assessment and Application (the process that covers authorization to discharge water from a construction site to The City’s Storm Drainage System
     - Where to find more information
Graham’s presentation will be approximately one hour, with 20 additional minutes for a question and answer session.

Graham Tait is a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Specialist with The City of Calgary’s Water Resources Business Unit. Graham’s work in the Stormwater Pollution Prevention (StmPP) Team includes the review, approval and compliance inspection of Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) Plans and Drainage Permits. The StmPP Team works with a variety of customers including project managers on City and private construction projects, developers, contractors, consultants, industrial site operators, and regulators. Graham has been with The City of Calgary for over 18 years, with a short stint working in land reclamation in British Columbia prior to that. Graham has a background in environmental chemistry and soil science, and is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) and a Certified Inspector in Sediment and Erosion Control (CAN-CISEC). Graham is passionate about professional development and accreditation in the industry and serves on the Board of Directors of the Erosion and Sediment Control Association of Canada.
