Capturing the Value in Tire Derived BMP's and Control Devices for Construction Stormwater Management Through Efficacy, Durability, and Economics

Rick Welle, Vice President

Erosion and sediment control devices, temporary and permanent can be constructed or manufactured utilizing recycled rubber primarily from waste tires. These control devices range from rubber logs, rubber molded products like blocks and mats, civil engineering applications such as, loose fill stormwater detention, and light weight aggregate fill applications. The benefits of using recycled rubber in these applications range from durability, usability, efficacy, and good economics.

Presented by Rick Welle, Vice President, RubbErosion

Rick has been involved in the tire recycling industry for over 15 years. He has been a boots on the ground guy from hauling, shredding, and end using tires and tire derived products. Being born and raised by a tire recycling entrepreneur, Rick founded an erosion and sediment control manufacturing company that utilizes recycled tires as a filtering media in erosion control and stormwater applications.
