Mission
The mission of the IECA Awards program is to recognize outstanding achievements in the erosion and sediment control industry.
Nomination Rules and Guidelines
Nominators: Only current IECA members may nominate an individual, project, or program for an award.
Nominees: See the award descriptions for any limitations on whom or what can be nominated.
Deadline: Nominations deadlines will be set each year by the Awards Committee. Deadlines are established each year to allow for promotion before the annual conference. This year, award nominations are due by November 18, 2011.
Process for Submittal: Nominations must be submitted electronically as specified in the Call for Nominations announcement and be received by the IECA by 5 p.m. MST on the due date.
Content: The content of a proposal varies according to the specific award. Two categories of content have been established: mandatory content and optional content. For both mandatory and optional material, the IECA Awards Committee reserves the right to validate the content of any nomination proposal, to request supplementary information from the nominator or, independently, seek any supplementary information it deems necessary in their review process.
- Mandatory Content - All nominations must contain an awards application with the completed contact information for the Nominator and Nominee and the mandatory content specified in each award category.
- Optional Content - The nominator may include additional content highlighting the attributes of the individual, project, or program beyond the mandatory content. The extent of optional content to include in the nomination proposal is determined by the nominator. The optional content is the nominator’s opportunity to “make the case” for the nomination proposal being selected for an IECA Excellence Award. Optional content might not be reviewed by the awards committee.
Format: All entries must be completed on letter size or A4 format with an 11.5 pt font size or larger, in Times, Times New Roman or Arial, with 1-inch (2.5-cm) margins, and no less than single spacing. Nominations must be formatted in one of the following: Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or Adobe Acrobat. Content and page length limits are specified in the award descriptions. Nominations that do not follow these format requirements can be rejected.
