Educational Tracks Sub Committee

The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair and Assistant Chair must be duly elected by the voting members of the Professional Development Committee for a three-year term. Both the Sub Committee Chair and Co Chair provide oversight of the Educational Tracks, while serving on the Professional Development Committee as voting members. These chairs may not serve in that capacity more than two (2) consecutive terms.

In the event the duly elected Educational Track Sub Committee Chair or Assistant Chair cannot fulfill the term, the voting members of the Professional Development Committee will assume the responsibility to appoint a new chair. These positions are directly responsible for the portfolio of the Educational Tracks.

The Educational Track Co Chairs (2 for each Educational Track), oversee their perspective Educational Track and provide direction to the Chair and Assistant Chair on issues related to their perspective Educational Track.

Persons serving in the above positions should have an in-depth knowledge of IECA’s mission and have very good communication and excellent leadership and technical skills. The primary purpose of these positions are to directly oversee those tasks associated with the above mentioned committee. The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair and Assistant Chair will serve as a voting members of the PDC.

Educational Track Sub Committee Chair and Assistant Chair, Removal & Replacement

The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair and Assistant Chair may be removed for cause, including but not limited to, failure to perform duties. At a minimum, the chairs must attend 70 percent of the year’s scheduled meetings and/or offer comments on agenda items to the staff liaison if unable to attend the meetings. The chairs must actively participate in all requests relevant to course review activity.

The chairs can be removed by the voting members of the Professional Development Committee by 2/3 vote.

Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chair, Removal & Replacement

When an Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chair completes his or her term of service, the Sub Committee Co Chair will solicit their replacement to be approved by the Educational Track Sub Committee Chair. In the event that a Sub Committee Co Chair steps down or is removed during his or her term, the Educational Track Sub Committee Chair will solicit a replacement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair is a voting member of the Professional Development Committee
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair sets annual goals for the Educational Track Sub Committee
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair presides at all meetings of the Educational Track Sub Committee, including teleconferences and the meeting at the annual conference
    • There will be two teleconference calls with the Educational Track Sub Committee Chair, Assistant Chair, the Educational Track Co Chairs, the Technical Vice President to the Board of Directors, and the IECA Education Director. The Chair will determine the day and time of these calls and notify the IECA Education Director and the Educational Track Sub Committee Chair
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair maintains working knowledge of what each Educational Track is doing
    • Sub Committee Co Chairs must submit a progress report three times a year to the Educational Track Sub Committee Chair and IECA’s Education Director which will be submitted to the Professional Development Committee
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair assists the staff liaison with goal-setting, communication and follow up for each Education Track Sub Committee Co Chair
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair assesses the performance of each Educational Track Committee Co Chair on an annual basis
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair formalizes and distribute the agenda for the Educational Track Sub Committee meetings after receiving input from each Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs and IECA’s staff liaison
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair serves as the official spokesperson of the Educational Track Committee
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Chair compiles each Educational Track report and submits an overall committee progress report three times a year to IECA’s Technical Vice President and the IECA staff liaison

  • Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs help set annual goals for their perspective Educational Track
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs set goals for the educational track of responsibility
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs investigate and search for Qualified Educational Programs and Presenters in the educational track of responsibility
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs recruit and enlist individuals for abstract and educational course presentations in the educational track of responsibility.
  • The Educational Track Sub Committee Co Chairs provide and enlist support for and from the local chapters throughout Region 1 of the IECA.
