Outstanding Professional Award


The Outstanding Professional Award recognizes an IECA member as an individual or organization that demonstrates excellence in their work in the industry and is viewed by his/her IECA peers as an industry leader through significant engagement with IECA. The recipient must be an active member of IECA and participate in the 2024 IECA Annual Conference and Expo. Nominations are now closed.

Judging Criteria

  • How has the individual or organization demonstrated leadership? (15 points)
  • Does the individual or organization’s peers recognize their leadership contributions to IECA and the erosion and sediment control and stormwater professions? (20 points)
  • Is the nominee known for his/her contributions to IECA? (15 points)
Total of 50 points available. Nominations not achieving at least 50% of available points in each judging criterion and at least 75% of the overall points will not qualify for an award. Additional points awarded for number of years as a member of IECA.

Mandatory Content

  • Describe the nominee’s service to IECA and contributions to the erosion and sediment control industry. (maximum 400 words)
  • Describe the nominee’s demonstrated leadership capacity. (maximum 200 words)
  • Provide background information on the individual similar in content to a professional resume or curriculum vitae, including any qualifications, involvement in the erosion and sediment control/stormwater industry and accomplishments, both professional and personal. (maximum 800 words)
  • Nomination must include two professional references. References cannot be from family members of the nominee. Awards committee representatives may contact the individual providing recommendations during the review process. 

Optional Content

The nominator may include optional content highlighting the attributes of the individual to supplement the mandatory content. The optional content is the nominator’s opportunity to “make the case” for the nomination proposal for the award.

IECA is the foremost organization for those involved in or concerned about soil erosion control. Membership (in IECA) tells others you take erosion control seriously and you want to help make a difference.
