IECA Awards Overview

The IECA Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements in the erosion and sediment control and stormwater industries. This year's awards will recognize young professionals under 30 and under 40, sustained partners, outstanding professional sustained contributor and the Enviornmental Excellence award. A breakdown of these awards are as follows.

Three Under 30

This category recognizes Three Outstanding Young Professionals Under 30* in stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control projects, programs, or academics that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection that are IECA members. The nominee earns points be being a student moderator; speaker; poster session participant; published stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control article; is active in his/her local chapter; or has been recognized for their contributions to the erosion and sediment control and stormwater by other awards.

This year's winners are Dakota Basham, Jacob Bucher and Lan Liu.

Four Under 40

This category recognizes recognizes Four Outstanding Professionals Under 40 in stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control projects, programs, or IECA support that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection that are IECA members. Nominees earn points in this category for attending the Emerging Leaders Alliance (ELA) conference; published stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control article; has presented a session at an IECA event; has attended the IECA Annual Conference or regaional chapter conferences; is active in his/her local chapter; or has been recognized for their contributions to the erosion and sediment control and stormwater by other awards

This year's winners are Jacob Burkey, Stefano Rignanese, Matt Welch and Blake Whitman.

Outstanding Professional

The IECA Outstanding Professional award recognizes an IECA member as an individual or organization that demonstrates excellence in their work in the industry and is viewed by his/her IECA peers as an industry leader through significant engagement with IECA.

This year's winner is Michael Robeson.

Sustained Partner 

This award recognizes a company who has provided distinguished support to IECA and has made outstanding contributions to improve the erosion and sediment control industry for a sustained number of years. Winners of this award will have demonstrated long-term support to the stormwater and/or erosion and/or sediment control industry through IECA through one or more of the following: education, innovative industry products, research, establishment of standards or policies or the development of technology.

This year's winner is Profile Products LLC.

Sustained Contributor

The Sustained Contributor Award recognizes an IECA member who has provided distinguished service to IECA and has made outstanding contributions to improve the erosion and sediment control industry for a sustained period of time. Winners of this award will have demonstrated leadership by example through a significant and long-term contribution to the erosion and sediment control industry and to IECA through one or more of the following: education, government involvement, research, establishment of standards or policies or the development of technology

This year's winner is Marc S. Theisen, M.Sc., CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI.

Environmental Excellence

The Environmental Excellence Award is IECA's premier award. It recognizes an outstanding stormwater and erosion and/or sediment control project, program, or operation that demonstrates excellence in natural resource conservation and environmental protection. Recipients will have shown a high level of environmental benefit by clearly identifying the objectives, methods used, results obtained, and details of the benefits to the environment.

This year, IECA recognizes the top three finalists: Carr Fire RevegetationCity of Springfield BMP Manual and Rain City Vancouver.

The winner is Rain City Vancouver.
