Raising Expectations: HECP/BSM Standards & Specifications

This short presentation will provide an update on the newest and most current standards and specifications developed by ASTM International that are relevant to hydraulically-applied erosion control products and biotic soil media. Participants will learn what ASTM standards are available and the potential value of using these standards for building specifications for your projects.

Dr. Michael D. Robeson, PE, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI is the Director of Research & Development for Profile Products, LLC, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, USA. He has over 20 years of experience in hydraulics, erosion/sediment control and storm water management. He is currently directing the research and development of Profile’s comprehensive line of erosion and revegetation, clay based and horticulture product lines. Robeson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and a Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Hydraulics from Colorado State University. He has been an active member of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) since 1998. He is actively involved in ASTM International committees on Erosion and Sediment Control as well as Geosynthetics. Robeson has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers and technical reports.
