Anti-Trust and Restraint of Trade Policy

The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is comprised of competitors, or potential competitors, that share common interests and seek solutions to common problems. IECA conferences, meetings, chapter functions and listservs provide these competitors with opportunities to discuss a variety of business practices and conditions within their industries and professions. IECA strictly prohibits any discussions or actions among its directors, employees and/or representatives that may have the effect of improperly restraining trade and competition in the marketplace in violation of applicable laws. Accordingly, it is IECA’s policy to prohibit the following: 1) Any discussions, understandings, or arrangements (either expressed or implied) about setting or fixing prices that will be charged for goods or services. Improper price discussions include agreements and understandings not only on the prices themselves, but also on price related issues, such as discounts, credit terms, surcharges, mark-ups, etc. 2) Any discussions, understandings, or arrangements (either expressed or implied) designed to injure a competitor or squeeze it from the market. This includes collective action to refuse to deal with a company or boycott its goods or services. 3) Any discussions, understandings, or arrangements (either expressed or implied) regarding the division or segregation of markets. Agreements and understandings to refrain from competing or advertising in certain markets can narrow the choices available to the consumer and unlawfully stifle competition. 4) Any discussions, understandings, or arrangements (either expressed or implied) that unreasonably restrain trade, stifle competition, involve unfair methods of competition or otherwise violate applicable laws.

Suitcasing is strictly prohibited at Seattle Regional Event. We reserve the right to remove any individual from the conference that are reported to be soliciting at the event and are not an event sponsor or exhibitor. We encourage attendees to support the paid sponsors and exhibitors who, in turn, are supporting the industry.

Views Expressed

The views expressed by any Seattle Regional Event attendee, speaker, exhibitor or sponsor are not necessarily those of Seattle Regional Event, IECA or its representatives. All event attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors are solely responsible for the content of any and all individual or corporation presentations, marketing collateral, advertising and online Web content.

Cancellation of Event and/or Education

Seattle Regional Event organizers may at any time, with or without giving notice, in their absolute discretion and without giving any reason, cancel or postpone the conference, change its venue or any of the other published particulars, or withdraw any invitation to attend. In any case, neither the organizers nor any of their officers, employees, agents, members or representatives shall be liable for any loss, liability, damage or expense suffered or incurred by any person.

Although every reasonable effort is made to provide the speakers, topics, and sessions listed, some changes or substitutions may occur. Speakers and sessions are subject to cancellation or change up to and including the day the session(s) are scheduled to be held. Changes or cancellations are made at the discretion of IECA and may be done without notifying attendees. If sessions are changed or canceled no refunds should be expected. Agreement to attend the Seattle Regional Event acknowledges acceptance of this provision.

Code of Conduct

IECA is committed to providing an atmosphere in which personal respect and intellectual growth are valued and the free expression and exchange of ideas are encouraged. Consistent with this commitment, it is the policy of IECA that all participants in IECA activities enjoy a welcoming environment free from unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation. We strive to be a community that welcomes and supports people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to, members of any race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.

Conference participants violating these guidelines are expected to comply immediately and may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund or liability at the discretion of the Conference Organizers.

To report a code of conduct violation, please call: 303-468-2240 or email simin@ieca.org.

Admittance and Removal

In IECA’s sole discretion, without refund, we reserve the right to refuse admittance to or expel from the event anyone that we determine is behaving in a manner that could be disruptive to the event or any other attendee or not following the attendee code of conduct.

Recording is Prohibited

Seattle Regional Event does not allow the recording or livestreaming of any session or events unless express permission is given by the speaker, facilitator or event organizer. No booth on the show floor may be photographed, recorded or livestreamed in any way without permission from the exhibiting company. This rule is to protect the intellectual property of our speakers, facilitators and exhibitors. Anyone found to be in violation of this rule will be removed from the event without refund.

Liability Waiver & Release

In consideration of your registration and attendance of Seattle Regional Event, you waive any and all claims that you or any future agent or heirs has or may have in the future against IECA, Seattle Regional Event, their agents, employees, servants and officials and release them from all risks, liability and covenant not to sue them for any expense, loss, damage, personal injury, including loss of life, disability, property damage, or property theft, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and litigation expenses, or actions of any kind that you may suffer or sustain, before, during or after Seattle Regional Event, unless such was caused by the gross negligence of IECA.
