CSA Standards for Erosion and Sediment Control

Ken Clogg-Wright & Robert Wills

Implementing effective Erosion and sediment control is essential to mitigating the impacts of construction and urban expansion on water quality and aquatic life. Currently there are no industry wide national standards for Erosion and sediment control.

Working together with CAN-IECA (Canadaian International Erosion Control Association) CSA Group is helping develop a series of national standards for the Erosion and sediment control industry. These new standards will provide clear minimum requirements and bring consistency to the way in which esc measures are planned and designed, installed and maintained, and inspected and monitored.

This hour long presentation walks you through what is CSA Group. And the first published (October 2018) standards for Esc Inspection and Monitoring. Touches briefly on the next standards which are installation and maintenance.
